If you are making a battery, it is important that the cells (cells) are uniform in type, capacity and condition! They should have a discharge current of 20 - 30A, the low discharge ones from laptops and flashlights are not for such purpose! They can be soldered by yourself, but it is advisable to do spot welding with a nickel bar, especially for high discharge batteries and appliances with very high consumption (20-30A)!
The products described in the advertisement are for lithium-ion batteries. We can convert old NiMH, NiCd and other batteries to lithium ion. In this case, besides the new cells, a new BMS board and a new charger (because of the different voltages and charging technology) are needed. Lithium-ion batteries last many more life cycles and run times than older rechargeable batteries!
